A partnership with the Pershore Group of Colleges (principally Holme Lacy College) to re-develop Pound Farm; to renovate the Farm House into a learning centre and to incubate education programmes in sustainable development.
The outcome of this project included the successful regeneration of the farm into a profitable organic enterprise, the renovation of Wilsley House and the incubation of the Sustainable Development Advocacy Masters degree programme.
Originating the idea: developing it in partnership with the college and securing funding.
This project helped to create a local examplar organic farm and education initiatives which have influenced people and organisations in Herefordshire and beyond.
The partnership with the college, regional development agency and many other organisations was essential in developing this project.
A demonstration that a conversion of a farm to organic status can also be profitable. A good example of a "ground floor" project which has positively affected the lives of many students.
