HELPING BRITAIN BLOSSOM
Helping Britain Blossom is a unique partnership between HEINEKEN UK, The Orchard Project and the Bulmer Foundation, working together with many hundreds of committed, inspiring and passionate people who want to make their communities better places to live and work.
It's all about supporting communities to create community orchards. Why? Because of our shared belief that orchards are a powerful way to bring people together to create green spaces and build healthier, happier and more sustainable communities.
On National Apple Day (21 October 2014), together with HEINEKEN and The Orchard Project, we officially launched the new community orchard programme, Helping Britain Blossom.
At The Bulmer Foundation, we’re really excited to be a founding partner. Together we will share knowledge, skills and resources, supporting each other to reach out and campaign for better use of public spaces whilst building healthier, happier and more sustainable communities. In 2015 Helping Britain Blossom aims to help around 40 locations in London, Birmingham, Herefordshire and Edinburgh to plant or restore orchards for community use. In 2016 we’ll continue to support these communities as well as helping around 60 more in Manchester, Leeds and another area (to be decided by a community competition) to get digging, planting and turning their dream orchard into reality.
Together we can help make Britain Blossom.
Peter Norton, Bulmer Foundation Associate, has been appointed as Helping Britain Blossom Project Manager in Herefordshire. We will add more information here about activities taking place in our County shortly and of course keep you up to date via our social media sites.
