In 2012 the Foundation joined forces with Shout Out, the Rural Media Company's film school. The partnership offered young people from across the county, the opportunity to take part in a 6-week long film-making and sustainability programme.
Pupils aged between 14 & 19 were involved in after school clubs and workshops and were enabled to link with community projects that exemplified sustainable development. Five films on different aspects of sustainable development were produced and a documentary screened at the Courtyard Theatre in Herefordshire. A DVD was also produced bringing together all of the films and commentary entitled "One Planet Living." Please contact us if you would like to see or screen the DVD.
The project stimulated debate about sustainability among participating young film makers.
By becoming informed about the issues, young people were influenced in their future choices towards a more sustainable way of living.
The project was a collaboration between the Bulmer Foundation and the Rural Media Company and also fostered links between local schools and youth groups and community projects in their area.
Feedback and comments from those that took part suggest a positive change in attitude and behaviour occurred as a result of the project.
